About me

My Approach

Hi, I’m Beverley, I am a qualified counsellor and psychotherapist based in Old Woking, Surrey. I adopt a holistic, integrative relational approach to my counselling practice which enables me to draw from a diverse range of therapeutic techniques tailoring sessions best suited to your individual needs and circumstances.

I understand that our lives are a constant journey of ups and downs. Sometimes we can cope and manage well, and other times it may feel as if life is too busy, demanding, and overwhelming. Therefore, it can be all too easy to lose sight of who we are, what we want, and where we are going. This may cause intense feelings and emotions leading to a lack of direction and control. Counselling provides a space to explore problems navigating the uncertainties and challenges in life, in a way to help rebuild perspectives enabling positive opportunities for change.
I believe that we all try to do the best we can, and everyone has the ability to fulfil their personal potential. My therapeutic style is rooted in creating a non-judgemental, collaborative environment where we can explore thoughts, feelings and concerns, and through strong relational connection clients can move forward in a healthy resilient manner.
I have a deep passion to help clients understand themselves and the relationships in their lives irrespective of background, faith, culture, sexual orientation, wealth or career. All relationships shape who we are and how we feel about ourselves and difficulties in relationships are not limited to those with intimate partners, the quality of any relationship has the capacity to cause distress, this may include relationships with parents, siblings, friends, working colleagues and of course children. This is why I offer therapy to both couples and individuals as all relationships deserve thought and consideration. Often relationship difficulties will have a ripple effect on other areas within our lives.
